Emily Gold, MPH
Emily Gold the Yoga Teacher. I came to yoga in 2006, first sweating my way through Bikram classes in Atlanta (where it would sometimes be hotter outside than inside) and then moving to a more mindfullness based practice while living in Northern Thailand. It wasn’t till I was faced with a serious health issue that I truly saw the power and importance of yoga, where the ability to turn inward and just be sometimes felt like the only thing I had control of. I continued with my practice and completed my 200 hour yoga teacher training at Adi Shesha Yoga Zone Ottawa in March of 2014. I’ve completed a Prenatal/Postnatal Certificate in September 2014 and a Level 1 Yin Yoga Certification from Empower ME Yoga in Ottawa in May 2015 as well as a Yoga Tune Up Practitioner Training in January 2015. I became a Womb Women’s Yoga Therapist in London in September 2015 and am currently training to become a Yoga Therapist with the Minded Institute. My practice in inspired by Hatha, Yin and Gentle Yoga, I believe in the importance of alignment and of aligning movement and breath. I’ve had the opportunity to practice yoga on 4 continents and when not on my mat (or at a birth) I can be found reading, knitting or spending time with my husband and dog, the latter of whom I found on the streets of Ethiopia.
I truly believe anyone can do yoga and take something positive away.

Emily Gold the Doula. As globetrotting American I landed in Brussels in 2015. I’ve worked in women’s health for more than a decade, working all over the world including Canada, USA, Thailand and Ethiopia. I completed a Birth Companion Training with Mothercraft Ottawa in 2013, and from the first birth I attended I knew I had found a calling. I’ve continued training with Child Birth International. My education and experience working in women’s health all over the world, informs my approach to Doula care. As a yoga teacher I can incorporate aspects of the yoga practice, including breathing, mindfulness and certain poses, into prenatal and labour support. I believe in evidence based approaches and believe in a woman’s right to make healthy informed decisions about pregnancy and birth. I have experience working with mother’s who have had VBACs, C-sections and births with and without medical interventions.
My additional doula training includes a Rebozo training with Gena Kirby and a Full Spectrum Doula training.
